REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating Minister of Human and Cultural Development (PMK Minister) Muhadjir Effendy reminded settlers to be orderly in their backflow trips to their respective monitoring areas in order to minimize the number of accidents.

“Especially for those who want to return to work later, I ask that what has happened at this time, thank God that this year's homecoming has decreased the number of accidents, down to about 53 percent. So this very high drop must be maintained, even lowered again,” Muhadjir explained after the Id prayer in the parking lot of the PPusat (PP) Muhammadiyah building, Menteng, Central Jakarta on Wednesday (10/4/2024).

For this reason, it reminds some things to the settlers who will return to the monitoring after the Lebaran holiday. One of them is to pay attention to the load of the vehicle used so as not to experience overload, let alone excess passengers because it is prone to causing accidents.

“Reflecting from the accident that just happened, the capacity of the vehicle is one that I need to emphasize yes. Be careful in using the vehicle, especially do not overload it. If it does contain 9, do not force more than that. Definitely, if the car is overloaded, especially if it is designed quickly, it will definitely be fried,” he explains.

Later, he also reminded settlers who will return to the port using the sea ship mode of transport to be patient while anticipating the queues that will occur at the time of entry and exit of the ship, especially for settlers who carry vehicles when crossing between islands.

“Then also please be orderly, especially those who are going to cross from Bakauheni to Merak which yesterday experienced a very long queue. Please later be prepared to deal with circumstances that may be less favorable, prepare the health conditions, basic needs necessary while standing in line,” he added.

He also, as the Coordinator of Handling Homecoming 2024, apologized to the community given that there are still shortcomings in providing services in the homecoming stream this year. It promised it would evaluate immediately and take tactical steps to deal with the backflow later.
